Lawrence Siegel, Composer
Lawrence Siegel brings to the writing of Kaddish twenty-five years of experience in creating and directing music and music theater
projects using texts from oral histories, interviews, and community dialogues. As the artistic director of Tricinium, he brings his
"Verbatim Project" to communities, schools, and organizations around the world. His music has won awards from the McKnight Foundation,
the New England Foundation for the Arts, Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and many others.
He has been a fellow in composition at the Tanglewood Music Center and three times at the MacDowell Colony. In addition to composing
his own concert music, Dr. Siegel has co-written musical theater work with Paul Hodes, Dan Hurlin, Andrew Periale, and Valeria Vasilevski,
a symphonic tone poem with Edie Clark, and many other collaborative projects. He has been composer-in-residence at the Eugene O'Neill
Puppetry Conference since 1999 and is also a nationally-known performer of traditional music. He has lived primarily in Westmoreland,
New Hampshire, since 1986.

Philip Brunelle, Senior Artistic Consultant
As Senior Artistic Consultant, conductor Philip Brunelle brings unparalleled energy, knowledge and experience to the Project. Philip is
the Artistic Director and Founder of VocalEssence in Minneapolis, MN,
one of America's premiere choral arts organizations. He is a key advisor for the Kaddish Project and will be producing Kaddish as part of
the 40th anniversary season of VocalEssence Minneapolis in fall, 2008. He will also oversee the development of the Project's national
educational outreach program.
A sought-after guest conductor, Philip recently appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Berkshire Choral Festival and Minnesota
Orchestra. In 2006, he conducted the BBC Singers and the Houston Symphony, and made his New York Philharmonic debut. He has received
many international awards, including the Kodály Medal from the government of Hungary and the Royal Order of the Polar Star from the
King of Sweden. And in 2005 the British government recognized his service to British music by investing him as an Honorary Member of
the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
Jan Cohen, Executive Producer
Jan Cohen, Executive Producer of the Kaddish Project, has been an Advisory Board member of the Cohen Center for Holocaust Studies at
Keene State College since 1999. In the spring of 2006, she represented the Cohen Center at the New Hampshire State Department of
Education's hearing to advocate for adding Holocaust and genocide education to the New Hampshire social sciences curriculum. In
recognition for her work on behalf of Holocaust studies, she received an official commendation by New Hampshire Governor John Lynch
in August, 2006. Through the Kaddish Project, Jan continues her efforts to raise awareness and inspire action to prevent injustice
and genocide in the world today.
Gina Goff, Producer
Gina Goff serves as a Producer to the Kaddish Project. Her involvement with Kaddish has included planning and management, fundraising,
communications, special events, and financial and legal oversight. Gina currently leads corporate social responsibility initiatives
for one of the top-ten largest privately owned companies in the U.S., as ranked by Forbes magazine.
Mara Williams Oakes, Producer
Mara Williams Oakes is an independent curator working with museums and galleries throughout the northeast. As a partner in Arts Bridge
LLC, Ms. Oakes leads exhibition teams for institutions developing new, large-scale museum projects. Prior to forming Arts Bridge, Ms.
Oakes spent a decade as the director of the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center in Vermont. She has served as chair of the Vermont Arts
Council board and as a board member of the New England Museum Association.
